Rivière-du-Loup Mitsubishi
Looking at Mitsubishi's sales results in Canada in 2024, two things stand out. Firstly, the company had an excellent year, once again setting a new record.
Then there's the performance of the Outlander and Outlander PHEV models. It's thanks to them that the company has established a new record. Their popularity remains impressive, and in the case of the PHEV plug-in hybrid version, it's making its mark in a big way.
The figures
First, a quick look at the numbers. In 2024, the Outlander PHEV was delivered to 14,290 customers, a figure that represents a 44% increase over 2023. In the case of the regular model, 9005 units were sold. In total, with 23,295 units sold, a figure that represents almost 60% of the brand's sales in 2024 (38,921 versions).
Now, what makes these results so impressive and constantly on the rise? Here are a few reasons why these models are so successful.
1- Adapted to Canadian reality
Both versions of the Mitsubishi Outlander are designed to adapt to the Canadian climate. We're referring, of course, to winter and the road conditions it can bring. Of course, it's the S-AWC (Super-All Wheel Control) all-wheel drive system that makes all the difference. This makes the vehicle stick to all surfaces and react magnificently when a slip is detected at one of the wheels.
2- An eco-responsible choice
With the Outlander PHEV, you get the best of both worlds, as this model offers everything the regular version offers, with the added bonus of an all-wheel drive system that reacts even more quickly thanks to the help of the electric motor, and an electric range of 61 km. This configuration allows owners to save fuel while reducing their carbon footprint.
This makes this model an ideal companion for short daily trips around town, but also for longer rides thanks to its extended range. It's clear that this combination of factors has helped win over more environmentally- and budget-conscious Canadian consumers.
3- Value for money
When buying any model, the question of value for money comes up. Who isn't looking for the best compromise? With the Outlander, buyers find what they're looking for. They appreciate the balance between the vehicle's affordable price and the many features on offer, such as a spacious interior, cutting-edge technology, and that hybrid option. What's more, the manufacturer's 10-year/160,000 km powertrain warranty is reassuring. It reinforces consumer confidence.
4- Versatility
The Outlander and Outlander PHEV offer consumers everything, including modern technologies that meet their expectations: intuitive touch screens, telephone connectivity, advanced driver assistance systems, etc... But beyond all that, it's the level of comfort, the space offered for storage, the availability of a third row, the quality of materials found on board, and the model's durability and reliability that ultimately tip the scales.
With a Mitsubishi product, people know they're getting a vehicle that won't give them trouble and that will last over time. That's the only way to think of buying a vehicle as an investment: knowing it's going to be with you for as long as you want it to be.
